ELK GROVE – Two firefighters are recovering after being injured while battling a house fire in Elk Grove on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out on Port Pacific Lane around 2:30 p.m.

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the two-story home when crews arrived and the fire eventually burned the roof.

Two people were inside the home at the time but were able to get out safely.

The fire department says its two firefighters received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The type of injury is unknown.
