Big rig crashes into school bus in Stanislaus County

STANISLAUS COUNTY — All 17 children onboard a school bus suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a big rig south of Modesto, authorities said Tuesday.

The California Highway Patrol Modesto said the school bus was stopped on Crows Landing Road near El Katrina Lane with red flashing lights and a stop sign out.

A separate car was stopped behind the bus when a big rig failed to stop, slamming into that other car before crashing into the back of the bus, the CHP said.

The drivers of the big rig and the other car were hospitalized with minor injuries. The CHP said none of the children needed to be hospitalized.

The CHP said it is still investigating the crash. No arrests were announced.
