10th Suspected Fentanyl Overdose Death Reported In Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Health officials say they are investigating another suspected death from an opioid overdose.

The death was reported in Sacramento County, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. There are now a total of 11 deaths, 10 in Sacramento County and one in Yolo County, suspected to be linked to fentanyl overdoses.

Authorities are investigating a total of 51 overdose cases in the area.

The overdoses are suspected to be the result of people taking illicit pills they believe to be Norcos. The pills are actually laced with a much stronger drug known as fentanyl.
