Homicide investigation opened after fatal shooting on Freeport Boulevard
SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department has opened a homicide investigation after a fatal Sunday shooting.
Police say that at roughly 11:53 a.m., officers arrived at the 6500 block of Freeport Boulevard in response to reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Police performed life-saving measures at the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
A short time later, a suspect was detained, said police.
