SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Authorities are investigating a stabbing that has left one person dead in North Sacramento late Friday morning.

The incident happened a little after 10:30 a.m. along the 2200 block of Cantalier Street, near Arden Way.

Exactly what led up to the stabbing is unclear, but officers say they responded to the scene and found a man who had been stabbed at least once.

Officers started emergency medical aid, but the man was later pronounced dead by medics.

A suspect was detained at the home, police say. The suspect's name has not been released.

No motive has been established, at this point, for the stabbing. Detectives say they are still canvassing the area for any other possible witnesses or evidence.
