WVU Hires Athletic Director To Replace Oliver Luck
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Without an Athletic Director since Oliver Luck decided to take a position with the NCAA, West Virginia University today announced the hiring of Shane Lyons as their next Athletic Director.
Lyons comes to WVU after serving as Alabama's Deputy Athletic Director since 2011 and will take up his new post beginning February.
Lyons is a Parkersburg native who earned his bachelor and master's degrees in sports management at West Virginia.
Prior to joining Alabama, Lyons was associate commissioner of the ACC conference and also served as a membership services representative for the NCAA and was an associate athletic director at Texas Tech.
