Woman Robbed, Stuffed In Trunk Of Car In Cranberry Township
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA)- A man has been arrested for robbing a woman in Cranberry Township, and then shoving her into the trunk of her car.
The robbery happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Dutilh Road around 8 p.m. Friday.
Police say Taquan Maxwell approached the victim and placed a gun into her rib area. The victim screamed, and Maxwell allegedly threatened to shoot her if she screamed again.
Eventually, the victim complied with his demands and handed over her cash and credit cards. He also demanded that she give him her cell phone.
Police say Maxwell then shoved the woman into the hatch area of the vehicle and closed the victim inside.
A short time after the robbery, a Jackson Township Police officer spotted a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle on Interstate 79. The vehicle exited the interstate and eventually stopped in a parking lot in Harmony Borough.
The officer thought the driver would try to take off on foot, so he ordered him out of the vehicle and placed him under arrest.
Police recovered a pellet gun from the car, which resembled a real pistol.
Maxwell was charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unlawful restraint and terroristic threats.
He was placed in the Bulter County Jail.
