PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- A woman was listed in critical condition after a shooting inside a home in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood.

An Allegheny County emergency official says police were called to the home in the 100 block of Rochelle Street around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim is a 52-year-old woman. Police say she was found lying on the dining room floor with a serious head wound. She was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition. She has since been upgraded to stable condition.

"There were cops last night with their lights on looking for whoever and a bunch of women's kids screaming last night," said Sherry Jankowski, neighbor.

"For this to happen, whoever did this, they're going to get theirs. You know, God doesn't like ugly," said Laura Thompson, a neighbor.

Thompson said the shooting victim is 52-year-old Regina Beck Jordan, who goes by the nickname of "New York."

Police say they found her around 11 p.m. Wednesday with a spent bullet casing on the floor.

"I don't know if her home was broken into, if she knew the person or whatever, but at the end of the day, you didn't have to do that and no one deserves to get hurt like this," said Thompson.

Police have not named any suspect in the case, persons of interest have been identified.

However, a neighbor who didn't want to go on camera said her surveillance cameras point directly at the alley behind the victim's home

She says the cameras recorded a car backing into the driveway and that detectives asked for her video
