Wilkinsburg School District Secretary Accused Of Inappropriate Contact With Student

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- A lot of questions surround an employee of the Wilkinsburg School District over her alleged involvement with a student.

An investigation is underway into the actions of the administrative secretary and whether or not she had inappropriate contact with a student at the Wilkinsburg High School.

For now, the district isn't commenting, calling it a "personnel" matter.

A female school district secretary is accused of sending text messages, allegedly seeking a relationship with a male high school student. It's not clear if the actions ever evolved further than just texting.

KDKA sought comment from school superintendent, Dr. Donna Micheaux, but she declined. Instead, she left the building, got in her car and sped away from the cameras.

The latest trouble comes a few months after it was revealed that more than 75 percent of the students at the high school were chronically truant last year. The school did not have a state-mandated attendance officer to monitor truancy.

As for the secretary, she could be fired, depending on what the investigation reveals.

It's not clear if she's still on the job, pending the investigation.

The school board is set to meet next week.

As for criminal charges, police tell KDKA they haven't found any crimes here since the student is over the age of 18 and isn't cooperating with the investigation.
