MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- Officials say the man who was shot Monday night in Wilkinsburg has died from his injuries.
Police were called to Marlboro Avenue around 8:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire.
Detectives were seen putting down several evidence markers, some on the sidewalk and many in the middle of Marlboro Avenue. KDKA even spotted one evidence marker on top of the trunk of a parked car.
Police found the 30-year-old victim lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has identified him as Tramaine Solomon from Monroeville.
Investigators tell KDKA they believe Solomon was walking down Marlboro Avenue at the time of the shooting, but detectives did find a vehicle that they believe was associated with him.
"We did not have any witnesses to provide us any descriptions, but we do have ballistic evidence from three different weapons, so it's possible there was more than one person involved in this," said Inspector Andrew Schurman, Allegheny County Police Department. "At this point, we're not sure why he was in Wilkinsburg or on Marlboro Avenue. Subsequently, we have learned he is or was wanted in connection to attempted homicide in the City of Pittsburgh and there was an active warrant for him," said Inspector Schurman.
In early December, Pittsburgh Police issued an arrest warrant for Solomon for attempted homicide. They said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
He was wanted in connection with a double shooting on North Franklin Street in Manchester. Officers found a woman, who told police she was his girlfriend, and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were critically injured in the alleyway behind Franklin Avenue.
