WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Police in Washington County are investigating after two homes were struck by bullets this week.
One was hit so many times bullets ended up inside the refrigerator. It was such a scare for the tenants, they're considering moving out.
Washington Police say up to six shots were fired into the back of a home on Fayette Street where a woman was inside with her 1-year-old child. Jim Stout, the landlord, stopped by to check out the damage to the patio door.
"It shattered it, completely shattered it," Stout said. "It's a double-door patio door. It took the one side out because three bullets went through that side."
Police say at least three of the bullets landed in the refrigerator. One landed in a wall. Detectives aren't saying if the bullets were intended for her, someone else in the house, or if they were random.
"She said she had just went into the kitchen and retrieved something from the refrigerator for her little girl moments before," Stout said. "She was in the house when it happened. God was on her side."
The 20-year-old woman told police she was in her daughter's bedroom when shots rang out. She had only been living there for ten days after moving here from San Diego. She said she's planning to move out.
"It looks like she was targeted, [but] it had nothing to do with her. It was just being in my house and her being in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess," Stout said.
Police are looking at footage from a nearby video surveillance camera.
