Warrant Issued For Suspect In Shooting Near Monroeville Restaurant

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) - Police are actively searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Monroeville Tuesday night.

According to police, the incident happened outside of the TGI Friday's around 9:30 p.m.

The incident is believed to have started as an argument involving a woman, her current boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend.

The current boyfriend was shot in the leg and his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

After the shooting, all three individuals fled the scene. All are believed to be in their 20s and at least one works at the restaurant.

Police were alerted to the incident after receiving several 911 calls. They were also alerted to a man arriving at UPMC East with a gunshot wound.

"We went back, based on some of the information we got from the victim and the witnesses that were with him, and we were able to find some more evidence. But, the reality was there was nobody there when we arrived on the scene that was shot or injured, those parties had all fled," Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole said.

An active warrant has been issued for the alleged shooter, but police have not released his name at this time.
