Driver Dies After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Sewickley Twp. Home

SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man died after his pickup truck slammed into a home Wednesday afternoon in Westmoreland County.

The accident happened after 3 p.m. in the 200-block of Firehall Avenue in Sewickley Township.

According to emergency officials, the driver became trapped in the vehicle.

He has been identified as Kenneth Paul, 51, of Hutchinson. He was pulled from the vehicle and flown to Forbes Hospital, where he later died.

The crash was so forceful that the truck ended up completely in the basement of the home.

There were people inside the home at the time of the crash, but they were not hurt.

Crews were initially worried about the structural stability of the home.
