Vance Worley: We Picked Apart My Tape All The Way Back To High School

BRADENTON (93-7 The Fan) – Pirates pitcher Vance Worley sat down with "The Fan Morning Show" at Spring Training in Bradenton this week to talk about his offseason and the team's preparations for the 2015 season.

Worley said a lot of work went into his resurgent 2014 campaign.

"There was a lot of film we went over down in extended [spring training]," Worley said. "We worked on that for a good month and some change, and then went up to Indianapolis, was there for about a month or so, and we just kind of kept going on with that and getting more comfortable with it. By the time I got up with the Pirates, by then it was engraved in my head, this is what you got to do, just trust it."

He also explained what he's doing to make sure that he can be successful again in 2015.

"Jim Benedict got some film," Worley said. "He went all the way back to high school. We picked apart a lot of stuff that was working for me when I was younger - college, even some summer ball, and then minor league baseball, successful with the Phillies, failing with the Twins, and then where I was at in extended [spring training]. And we just kind of blended it all together and found what worked for me, and said, 'Okay- now you've got the tools, go work.'"

"The Fan Morning Show" will be broadcasting live from Bradenton all week long.
