Man charged with attempted homicide in Uniontown shooting

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (KDKA) — Police are looking for an attempted homicide suspect after a person was shot in the head in Uniontown. 

Derek Brown, 32, of Uniontown was shot in the head around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Gallatin Avenue and East Coffee Street on Monday, Uniontown Police Captain David Rutter said. As of Monday afternoon, he is in stable condition at a West Virginia hospital.

On Tuesday, police said an arrest warrant has been issued for Ramone Williams III. He is charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a firearm prohibited, possession of instruments of crime and tampering with evidence.

Police said he should be considered "armed and dangerous." Anyone with information can call Uniontown police at 724-430-2929.
