2 Men Charged In Deadly Shootings On Route 28 And I-376

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Two men face a list of charges for two deadly shootings on two Pittsburgh-area roads last summer.

Back in May, Shane Edwards was shot and killed on Route 28 southbound near the Sharpsburg exit. A few hours later, Jasmine Guest was shot and killed while she was riding in a vehicle on the Parkway East near the Wilkinsburg exit.

Eight months later, police charged Howard Milligan and Leroy Irvin with the deadly shootings.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators claim Irvin told them he and Milligan arrived at Zone 28 in Harmar Township at around 11:30 p.m. before the shootings. The complex is where Edwards and an unnamed witness were. At 1:45 a.m. they left, as did Milligan and Irvin. The shooting happened after.

Irvin told police Milligan shot at Edwards' car. When police asked why, Irvin said that Milligan said "They killed my sister."

Hours later, Irvin and Milligan went to Cambod-Ican Kitchen on the South Side. Video surveillance shows Milligan and Guest outside the restaurant at around 2:50 a.m. Guest entered the restaurant and later hugged Milligan when she left.

She got into a GMC Yukon, and Irvin and Milligan followed the vehicle onto the Parkway East. Milligan and Irvin began arguing, then Milligan shot at the Yukon, shooting Guest in the head.

Milligan and Irvin have been in jail on unrelated charges.

Barbie Sampson, the mother of Guest, talked to KDKA's Jennifer Borrasso about the case.

"I feel like the justice isn't coming until I get to see their faces and go to court and hear the reason why they took my daughter's life," she said.

"You took her away from her daughter, away from her family and we can never have her back," Sampson said. For what cost?"

Sampson said she has never heard of the men who are charged with her daughter's death.
