Tomlin, Steelers Working On Getting Offense Going
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) will go on the road to take on the Carolina Panthers (2-0) Sunday night.
Pittsburgh will be looking to get back in the win column after getting beat by Baltimore 26-6 Thursday night.
These two teams met just a couple of weeks ago in the preseason finale. The Panthers won that game 10-0, but that was then and this is now.
During his weekly press conference, Mike Tomlin said they are trying to figure out what to do offensively to get things going.
Now would be a good time as the Steelers haven't found the endzone since the first half against Cleveland in Week 1.
Tomlin said they've evaluated their performances and had an extra workout day yesterday, due to their last game on Thursday.
Tomlin did identify three keys for this week's matchup with Carolina:
- Cut down on turnovers
- Tackle better
- Play penalty-free football
Tomlin also said stopping Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and their running game is a top priority.
