The Pittsburgh RV Show, America's longest-running RV show, kicks off this weekend

2023 Pittsburgh RV Show underway at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Do you need an RV for camping or maybe for tailgating? Well, you may want to check out the Pittsburgh RV Show this week at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

The Pittsburgh RV Show has been around since 1968, promoting road trips, outdoor adventures, and family fun.

Hundreds of RV's, along with tons of different booths and vendors are filling the floors at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. And as soon as doors opened here on Saturday morning, people both young and old began streaming in to see what kind of cool 'home away from home' they might want to drive away in.

Show producer Randy Giancola said that there is a lot to love about traveling in an RV.

"When you look at an RV, whether it is a small pop-up camper or anything in between: travel trailers, fifth wheels, the toy haulers, the diesel pushers, motor homes like John Madden ran in, when you look at it, you just see convenience. You can go where you want when you want. You don't need to geotag your luggage because it is not getting lost," Giancola said.

Some folks came out to buy. Some came out to bourse. And some just came to have fun with their families.

RVs make travel affordable, help unite friends and family, and make experiencing America accessible. Here in Pittsburgh, the RV show is the place to shop for an RV with over nine acres of the latest models to compare and choose from, as well as RV-related products to help enhance your trip.

Along with RVs there will also be representatives from campgrounds and resorts as well as industry representatives to help plan trips, and find the best RV, and best destinations.

"The kids love it. They love going in and out of the campers. They enjoy checking all the different types of campers. And they enjoy checking out different bedrooms that they might see and that they might want to enjoy," Moses Bachinski, a local RV enthusiast, said.

Over 30,000 people annually come to the Pittsburgh RV Show. General admission tickets start at $12 and the show runs through Jan. 15.

Whether you are looking for a fun way to see the country or you just want to get out of the house for a little bit, the Pittsburgh RV Show may just be the way to go.
