Woman shot outside Texas Roadhouse in Bridgeville
BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. (KDKA) — A woman was shot outside the Texas Roadhouse in Bridgeville.
Officials said Friday that a woman shot another woman in the leg in the parking lot of the restaurant on Washington Pike. The victim was taken to a local hospital, while the suspect was taken into custody.
According to court records, August Poole, 22, is in custody on charges including aggravated assault after the shooting off Washington Pike.
In the complaint, officers say Poole said it started when she and her cousin got into an argument with another group of people over a cell phone video.
Investigators say medics put a tourniquet on the woman's leg which they believe saved her life and transported her to the hospital in stable condition.
"The altercation escalated and became physical," with the victim eventually "pulling" a can of pepper spray from her [purse.]"
Poole told officers she "thought it was a deadly weapon," pulled out her gun, and fired one round.
"We saw a couple of things on the ground, shoes, a bloody t-shirt in a parking space," Carmella Weaver said.
"Had I known it had been a shooting and not just a car accident, which was what I had assumed, we probably would have gone elsewhere," she added.
The relationship between the two or why the shooting happened is unclear.
The victim was last listed in stable condition as of Saturday night.
