Teen Printed $100s On Washed Bills, Gets Probation
MERCER, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania teen will spend four years on probation for bleaching 18 $5 bills that he reprinted as $100s and spent at several businesses.
Eighteen-year-old Nicholas Davis told a Mercer County judge that getting pulled out of class by U.S. Secret Service agents at Greenville High School got his attention, saying "I've learned my lesson."
Judge Christopher St. John wasn't so sure so he sentenced Davis to one to three years in state prison, then suspended the term before imposing the probation sentence Wednesday.
The (Sharon) Herald reports the judge sent Davis away with a warning saying, "You probably better leave now before I change my mind."
Davis is already on probation in nearby Erie County for using bogus bills to buy a video game system.
