Teen Convicted In Steubenville Rape Case Back On Football Team

STEUBENVILLE (KDKA) – One of two Steubenville high school football players found guilty of raping a teenage girl is back on the football team.

Ma'lik Richmond was back on the roster as of Monday morning.

Richmond was released from a juvenile detention center in January after serving ten-months of his one-year sentence.

He must continue to register as a sex offender every six-months for the next 20-years.

Richmond's co-defendant, Trent Mays, is still serving his time in a juvenile detention center.

He was sentenced to two-years.

Richmond and his attorney fought to have the sex offender classifications dropped but the Court of Appeals denied that request.

Mays must also register as a sex offender when he is released.
