Police don't believe missing 7-year-old Swissvale boy found safe was in danger

SWISSVALE, Pa. (KDKA) -- Allegheny County police are investigating after their Child Abduction Response Team was called for a missing 7-year-old boy in Swissvale who detectives believe was never in danger.

Swissvale police asked for help on Facebook looking for a boy who had last been seen by his mom around 10:40 a.m. Thursday. Shortly after 1 p.m., county police said the boy was found safely on Penn Avenue in Point Breeze. 

County police said their detectives initiated an investigation and at this time don't believe the child was in any danger. 

Police didn't offer any more information but said the investigation is ongoing.
