Strong Thunderstorms Expected To Rock Pittsburgh Region

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit the Pittsburgh region Monday afternoon and evening.

AccuWeather says a cold front headed our way will not only bring cooler temperatures, but thunderstorms that "will rattle southwestern Pennsylvania."

The strongest storms could bring strong winds and hail.

The National Weather Service also reports that there's an enhanced risk over much of the Atlantic Region.

The NWS says southwestern Pennsylvania will get hit by strong to severe thunderstorms that will quickly move east -- but strong winds will be the biggest threat, and hail in stronger parts of the storm.

A tornado watch has been issued for Cambria and Somerset counties until 10 p.m.

Tuesday will then bring in cooler temperatures with highs in the 50s.
