Street Blocked Off As Sink Hole Develops On The North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are blocking off James Street in the North Side after a large sinkhole has developed.

Officials say the hole is continuing to grow with each moment that passes. It's in the 1100-block of the street, near Allegheny General Hospital.

The hole is reportedly about the size of a basketball on the surface, but a large cavern about 15 to 20 feet has opened up underneath.
