Thousands Of Fans Pack Latrobe Memorial Stadium For Steelers Night Practice

LATROBE (KDKA) – An estimated 11,000 fans crowded into Latrobe Memorial Stadium Friday night for the Steelers' first night practice of 2015 Training Camp.

Coach Mike Tomlin was the first person off the school buses that brought the team to the stadium from nearby Saint Vincent College.

This is benchmark season for the team; marking the Steelers' 50th year of training camp on the Saint Vincent campus.

Before the practice got underway, players signed autographs and mingled with as many fans as possible.

Tight end Heath Miller said he really enjoyed interacting with fans.

"Steelers Nation's everywhere, so it's fun to be here and interact with the fans," Miller said.

Defensive end Cam Heyward expressed a similar sentiment.

"These people pay their hard-earned money to come out here and see us, and it's a great opportunity to just mingle and have fun with it," Heyward said.

Fan Adam Knaresborough, of Harrison City, said, "The Steelers are always kind enough to come out here and show they support their fans, and we like showing our support for them."

There's one more night practice before the pre-season kicks off.

They'll be a night practice at Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
