Steelers, First-Round Pick Ryan Shazier Agree To 4-Year Contract

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they have come to an agreement with 2014 first-round draft choice linebacker Ryan Shazier on a four-year contract.

Shazier comes to the Steelers from Ohio State University where he played in 39 games as outside linebacker. The Steelers will be moving Shazier to inside linebacker.

During the Steelers' optional team activities, Shazier was seen starting alongside current inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons.

At Ohio State, Shazier recorded 316 tackles, 14 sacks, 44.5 tackles for a loss, nine quarterback pressures and nine forced fumbles.

Shazier was named a first-team All-American after his 2013 season.

Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette first reported the financial terms of the deal.

The Steelers have now signed six of their nine selections.
