Steel Valley School District To Use Apple Donation On iPad Technology Plan
MUNHALL (AP) - A suburban Pittsburgh school district says it'll use a six-figure donation from Apple Inc. to fund an iPad-based technology plan.
The Steel Valley school board voted Tuesday to accept Apple's $291,791 donation and put it toward the purchase of tablets and teacher training.
Philanthropist William Campbell has contributed $70,000 to the technology effort and $102,500 to a program that teaches students real-world problem solving through design thinking and project management.
Officials tell the Post-Gazette they plan to roll out the iPads during the 2015-2016 school year.
