State Trooper Shot During Traffic Stop
CHAMBERSBURG (KDKA) -- A Pennsylvania state trooper was shot early this morning in Guilford Township in Franklin County.
The trooper had been conducting a traffic stop on the 1400 block of Lincoln Way E around 2:00 a.m. The driver was suspected to be driving under the influence. The driver, Robert William Ransom, pulled out a handgun and shot the trooper while he was being arrested. Ransom, 20, is from Chambersburg.
The trooper was flown to an area hospital but was released on Monday.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
