St. Joseph's Prep Routs Central Catholic For PIAA 6A Title

HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) - D'Andre Swift ran for 140 yards and three touchdowns as St. Joseph's Prep of Philadelphia routed Pittsburgh Central Catholic 42-7 on Saturday in the first PIAA Class 6A title game.

It was St. Joseph's third state championship in four years. They finished the season winning every game by double digits.

Thirteen seconds before the half, St. Joseph's quarterback Marquez McCray hit Darryle Simmons for a 35-yard touchdown to take a 14-0 lead.

It wasn't until the final play of the third quarter that Central Catholic got on the scoreboard with a 19-yard run by Justice Evans, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Central Catholic lost four fumbles and gained just 185 yards offense.
