SOUTH GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- A man who was injured in a hit-and-run in South Greensburg earlier this month has died.

The family of 86-year-old Clarence Wolff, of Greensburg, says the man died of his injuries Tuesday. Wolff had remained in the hospital ICU since he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Good Friday.

The accident happened on Broad Street in South Greensburg near DeGennaro's Restaurant.

Wolff, his daughter and granddaughter had just left the restaurant after having dinner and were walking to their parked car when he was hit. It was about 7:30 p.m.

According to Lauren Gerritsen, Wolff's granddaughter, the driver stopped, got out of the vehicle and asked if Wolff was OK before getting back in his vehicle and driving away.

Gerritsen said Wolff suffered brain and spinal injuries.

There have been no arrests in the case.

"It's very frustrating that it's been going on this long. I can't believe... I know police are doing the best they can. I just hope that they can find something, find somebody," restaurant owner Jeanine DeGennaro told KDKA News.

DeGennaro can't believe that after a week and a half, the driver of the hit-and-run car hasn't come forward.

Now, she's hoping someone else will. That's why she started a GoFundMe account for Wolff's family.

"Obviously, this person is not going to do the right thing, but there is someone out there that saw something. Someone saw something and someone fixed his car. Someone saw him. This was Good Friday night at 7:37. Someone saw something," DeGennaro said.

Police say the suspect's vehicle is a newer Chevrolet Cruze sedan that's dark gray in color with chrome accents on the doors. The vehicle has some body damage.
