Shooting Suspect Unaccounted For After 2-Hour SWAT Standoff

WEST END (KDKA) -- A two-hour SWAT situation in Crafton Heights ended late Saturday night after police entered the residence and found the suspect they were looking for was not inside.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McClay told KDKA's Kym Gable the call initially came in as a home invasion at 1223 Berry Street.

The intruder apparently opened fire, shooting an 18-year-old who was inside the home.

The victim was listed in stable condition late Saturday.

Police got word the suspect might still be inside the house, so they called in SWAT members and a negotiator.

They surrounded the home for nearly two hours.

At 10:45, it was determined the suspect was not there.
