Shadyside bank closed after reported robbery, suspect apprehended

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man was arrested after two bank robberies on Centre Avenue in Shadyside. 

Police said 29-year-old Rashon Coleman was charged after a robbery at PNC Bank on Monday and another at First National Bank on Tuesday. 

Police said officers responded to reports of a bank robbery in progress at the First National Bank around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Police said a suspect was apprehended immediately after coming out of the bank. 

The day before, police said a man got away with cash after he told a teller he had a weapon. 

Coleman is facing four counts of robbery and two counts of theft in connection with the robberies. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
