Severe Storms Expected As Hot, Humid Weather Rolls Through Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Hot and humid weather is bringing severe storms through Western Pennsylvania.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued Friday morning for Lawrence County and Mercer County, lasting until 10:15 a.m. 60 mile per hour wind gusts were observed via radar, people should expect damage to tress and power lines.

Jon Burnett is calling for a "miserable" weekend: hot and muggy with thunderstorms throughout.

The first sign of rain will be spotted beginning Friday during the day and continue through the evening. Saturday will show a high in the mid-90s.

Health officials have urged people to take precautions this weekend as the heat wave brings dangerous temperatures.
