Several Injured, 1 Killed In 5-Vehicle Crash On Route 51
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Several people were rushed to the hospital after a five-vehicle crash in Pittsburgh, and one person was killed.
It happened around 6 p.m. on Route 51 near Woodruff Street.
Four people were taken to the hospital.
According to paramedics, two people were in the silver vehicle that is believed to have started the collisions. A male driver, taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital with a severed arm, and a woman passenger. She was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses say the silver car crossed the median at a high rate of speed.
"She was going at least 100 miles an hour and she flew over the barrier and hit well over four cars," said Chelsea Kingman.
"The silver car jumped the median. I tried to pull over to try and get out of his way, and he hit me anyways. Spun me around and I picked up my head just in time to see the Duquesne car hit me," said Bill Myers.
Route 51 was closed in the area for several hours.
