Settlement Reached In Target's Lawsuit Against 'Hero' Who Saved Teen In Stabbing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A settlement has been reached between Target and a local man who was hailed as a hero after a stabbing rampage at the East Liberty store.

A series of lawsuits were settled this morning in this complicated case.

Three years ago, Leon Walls attacked a 16-year-old girl from Tennessee inside the East Liberty Target.

Allison Meadows' family sued Target for having a lack of security during the attack, which was captured on surveillance video.

Michael Turner and his friends got Walls away from the girl and held him down until police arrived.

However, Target countersued the hero Turner, claiming he was responsible for chasing Walls into store.

The trial started on Wednesday, but ended abruptly this morning when a confidential settlement was reached.

"The parties have reached a mutually agreeable, confidential settlement in this matter. We extend our sympathies to Ms. Meadows and wish her well," Target said in a statement.

Terms of the settlement were not released.
