Senator, Former Gov. Endorse Presidential Candidates
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge is endorsing a candidate for the 2016 presidential election.
Ridge says he will campaign in support of former Florida governor and fellow Republican, Jeb Bush.
Ridge says Bush's time as governor in a "complex" state makes him the most qualified candidate.
"I think sorting out the candidates over the next several months will be a very important part of the political process to that extent," he said. "I'm going to be supporting Gov. Bush, but I do think we have some very attractive candidates as alternatives to Jeb. I just hope they come in second."
Former Gov. Ridge says no matter the candidate, the GOP has a good chance of beating the democratic party in 2016.
And Senator Bob Casey is endorsing Hillary Clinton for president.
He sent an email to supporters Friday touting Clinton's "dedication to fighting for the middle class."
Casey endorsed President Obama over Clinton in the 2008 democratic party.
