Section Of I-80 Westbound Reopens After Multi-Vehicle Accident
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A section of I-80 westbound closed Saturday morning due to a multi-vehicle accident near Wolf Creek Township.
PennDOT announced around 9:50 a.m. that I-80 westbound was closed between Exit 29 (Barkeyville, Route 8) in Venango County and Exit 19B (Interstate 79, interchange) in Mercer County. The stretch of I-80 reopened shortly before noon.
Pennsylvania state police say a tractor trailer rear-ended one car, and the impact caused another car to be hit.
Richard P. Wolfgang, 73, and Sherry Wolfgang, 62, were in the first car that was hit. Richard was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian with severe injuries.
