Second round of antlerless deer licenses go on sale Monday morning
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Beginning Monday, the second round of antlerless deer licenses went on sale, but the online system suffered a bumpy start.
Many hunters experienced long wait times when trying to get their license in the first round of sales. This happened because it was the first time licenses were sold online, and there was an increase in demand.
The Game Commission says more than 300,000 customers bought their licenses with little or no waiting in the first round of sales, but there were long lines on the first day of sales, especially for hunters getting their licenses online.
Some waited around 10 hours to buy a license.
More than 480,000 antlerless licenses have been sold since June 26. Antlerless license sales are up by more than 99% compared to this time last year, and it's taken longer to print and ship licenses, the Game Commission added
You can get them anywhere hunting licenses are sold, including online, beginning at 8 a.m.
To avoid long limes, the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission said hunters can check how many licenses are available on their website at this link.
