Boyfriend Arrested After Woman Found Dead In Aliquippa Home

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One person has been arrested after a woman was found dead in Aliquippa.

She was found in a home in the 400-block of Adams Street.

The call came in around 3:30 p.m. after 52-year-old Patricia Thompson Lay was discovered dead in her home by her daughter. Her body was found in the kitchen.

Lay has four adult children -- three daughters and a son. She reportedly lived in the house alone.

"I'm devastated, for real, I was her favorite nephew, I used to check up on her all the time," said Lay's nephew Snidy Lay.

Lay's boyfriend, 58-year-old James Turner has been arrested and charged with homicide.

Aliquippa Police Chief Donald Couch told reporters Friday night that Turner was brought into the police station by his son, and he was cooperating with investigators.

"She was a good person, kind hearted," said her brother James Lay. "That's why I can't see why this would happen, because she would give you the shirt off her back. You know, she was a very kind hearted person. She was a healthcare worker herself, before she got ill. She was -- had to retire because of Lupus."

Police said Lay's car, a green Cadillac, was also reported missing. They eventually found it in Sewickley, where police said it had run out of gas.

It's unclear if Lay's boyfriend took the car.

We have a crew on the ground headed to the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
