One Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Washington Twp.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Washington Township on Friday afternoon.
It happened around 3:20 p.m. on Route 66.
At least three vehicles were involved.
Police believe a white truck crossed the center line, hit a car and continued on, then hitting another vehicle.
Emergency dispatchers confirmed that one person was killed in the crash and others were hurt, including two children.
Several patients were flown to local hospitals.
The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 32-year-old Matthew Gibbons of Apollo.
Route 66 had to be closed down in both directions during the investigation.
