Ross Township Police asking for public's help in identifying car break-in suspects

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -  Police in Ross Township are looking for people wanted for breaking into vehicles.  

Police say the thefts happened in the Laurel Gardens neighborhood. The doorbell video – put on Facebook by Ross Township Police – appears to show two people attempting to open and enter cars.

Police say it happened around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. They claim the suspects entered several unlocked cars and stole items from them.

CRIME ALERT: Laurel Gardens Overnight, several Laurel Gardens residents had their unlocked vehicles entered and had items stolen out of them. This occurred around 0430 Hrs. If you have any additional video that could help us identify the suspects, please let us know. Please make sure you lock up every night!

Police gave KDKA four streets where these thefts reportedly happened. They include First Ave., Third St., and Third Ave. Police also included First St., where many neighbors we spoke with off camera pointed us towards.

Many we spoke with do describe this neighborhood as safe – but there are some taking precautions after the thefts Thursday morning.

"A lot of times I have company equipment in my vehicle so yeah, I'm gonna make sure my vehicle's locked all the time," Alan Hallberg of Ross Township said.

Ross Township Police said on Facebook that you should contact them if you have any additional video that can help them catch these suspects. The department is also reminding people to lock their car doors.
