Report: Steelers Expect Roethlisberger Will Be Ready To Face Ravens
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The team, fans and Ben Roethlisberger himself were hopeful that the quarterback would return in time to face the Baltimore Ravens, and according to reports, Roethlisberger's recovery seems to be on track.
Jason La Canfora with CBS Sports reports that team officials anticipate Roethlisberger will participate in drills when the Steelers return to practice this week.
Roethlisberger left a game against the Miami Dolphins in the second quarter on Oct. 16, but returned in the third quarter. After the game, it was reported that he had suffered a torn meniscus, and he underwent a successful surgery the following day.
Initial reports suggested he could be out for 4 - 6 weeks, but team doctors reportedly expected Roethlisberger would recover in only 2 - 3 weeks.
Roethlisberger told 93-7 The Fan that he did some individual work on Tuesday and said he was hopeful he would be able to practice this week.
The Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6.
