Residents Displaced After Fire At Munhall Apartment

MUNHALL (KDKA) -- Residents have been displaced from their apartments in Munhall after a fire broke out Tuesday night.

The 2-alarm fire broke out at the 3-story apartment complex in the 1100-block of McClure Street early Tuesday night.

Munhall Borough Fire Chief Ed Pletsch said the fire spread up a wall and through the structure, but crews were able to stop the fire before it spread to the roof. The fire was under control after about 30 to 45 minutes.

All the residents were able to get out of the building safely. No one was injured. Due to the damage to the building, the residents will not be allowed back inside Tuesday night. The Red Cross is assisting.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
