Report: Alleged Victim In Jung Ho Kang Sex Assault Case Did Not Initially Cooperate

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - New details have emerged in the alleged sexual assault case against Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Jung Ho Kang.

Police in Chicago have released an incident report that says the woman accusing him of assaulting her did not initially cooperate with police.  The report also says the case is being actively investigated.

The report is heavily redacted, which could be obscuring key details.

According to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report, Kang, who was signed by the Pirates in January, 2015, has not been charged criminally.

Kang is accused of sexually assaulting a Chicago woman in a hotel room last month.  She says he gave her an alcoholic drink that made her lose consciousness.  Then, she remembers him sexually assaulting her.  She says she later regained full consciousness in a taxi cab.

Police say she took a rape kit at the hospital.  The report indicates her injury extent was "minor."
