Police Investigating After Teen Sexually Assaulted At Washington Co. Park

CROSS CREEK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a teen said she was sexually assaulted at a Washington County park.

According to police, the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at Cross Creek County Park.

The 17-year-old girl told police she had been assaulted and raped by a Hispanic man. The girl allegedly met the man through the Tango social media outlet.

"They agreed to meet at the park, and she met him at the park," said Trooper Matt Jardine, of Pennsylvania State Police. "They walked down a path together, he hit her on the head, and then sexually assaulted her."

She described the suspect as being in his 20s, standing about 6-feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He had blue eyes, straight brown hair, a mustache, short beard and yellow teeth with gaps.

She also described several tattoos on the suspect.

On his right hand, he had a tattoo of an "A" between the index finger and thumb. He had a tattoo of an "L" on his left hand in the same location.

On his back, there was a tattoo of a skull without a jaw.

He was last seen wearing a black and purple, straight billed baseball hat, black T-shirt, blue jeans, black belt and tan Nike running shoes.

The suspect's vehicle is believed to be a light blue Ford Explorer, the model possibly between the years of 2006 and 2008, with a lift kit.

Police say someone may have tried to help the victim after the attack.

"She reported initially that another woman that was in the park came to her aid," said Trooper Jardine. "She was a gray-haired lady and we're still trying to locate that individual, so if anybody has any additional information about who she was, if she could step forward and help police with our investigation, we'd greatly appreciate it."

Anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Washington at (724)-223-5200.

"Anybody who may have been in the park yesterday afternoon around 2:30, between 2 and 4 o'clock possibly, if they would have any information possibly about who was coming and going or what they saw in the park, that would be a big help to us and we'd like them to contact the state police in Washington," Trooper Jardine said.
