Police: Subway Restaurant Robbed By Man In Clown Mask
HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - State police are trying to find the person who robbed the Subway restaurant on Route 30 in Hempfield Township this weekend.
The robbery happened Saturday night. Someone wearing a clown mask stole the cash register from the restaurant.
"I heard the doorbell ding and went to get up for a normal customer coming in," said an employee.
Investigators say the robber was armed and was wearing a parka with a fur collar, tan pants and black gloves at the time. He is believed to be about 5-feet-9-inches tall.
"He raised the gun and pointed it at me, and I started running," she added.
During the robbery, a 17-year-old girl came into the store. The robber allegedly held a gun to the girl's head, and stole $2 from her.
"She was crying, she was shook up," said the girl's father Paul White. "It was hard for me being a parent, to see that."
After the robbery, the suspect left the store in a white minivan, heading west on Route 30. Police say the robber may have been accompanied by a woman, who was about 5-fee-6-inches tall.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call state police in Greensburg.
