Steelers Sign Former Broncos Left Tackle Ryan Harris

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With Kelvin Beachum recovering from knee surgery and hitting the free agent market, the Steelers have been busy visiting with potential players they could sign to fill the void left by him.

They did so Tuesday afternoon when they announced the signing of offensive tackle Ryan Harris to a two-year contract.

Harris, going into his 9th season in the NFL, and was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 3rd round, 70th overall in the 2007 Draft out of Notre Dame.

Harris was the starter for all 16 regular season games and three postseason games for the Super Bowl champions last year.

The Steelers had also met with Seattle Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung, but have elected to go with the Broncos former starter.

This means left tackle Alejandro Villanueva will likely go back to his backup role after exceeding expectations while filling in for the injured Beachum last year.
