Report: Should Steelers Be Targeting A Cornerback In The First Round?

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - A clear position of need for the Steelers in this year's draft, Kirk Larrabee of 247Sports.com looks at just how important it is for the team to get a top cornerback.

The Steelers currently only have five cornerbacks on the roster in Cortez Allen, William Gay, Antwon Blake, B.W. Webb and Kevin Fogg with only 95 combined starts amongst them.

Out of those 95 starts, William Gay has 76 of them, so they're certainly lacking in experience.

Add to that the retirement of Ike Taylor, and the Steelers have a real need for an injection of talent and youth in their secondary.

If the Steelers don't take a cornerback in the first round, they likely would target one in the second round.
