Report: Pittsburgh ranked 15th most neighborly city in the nation

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - It seems Mister Rogers' Neighborhood may have been on to something.

A new report calls Pittsburgh one of America's 25 most neighborly cities.

Neighbor.com shows Pittsburgh coming in the 15th spot.

Harrisburg also makes the list at No. 21; as well as, our neighbors and football rivals in Cincinnati, Ohio. coming in last at No. 25.

The top five cities on the list are:

  1. Madison, Wisconsin
  2. Minneapolis, Minnesota
  3. Colorado Springs, Colorado 
  4. Sarasota, Florida
  5. Rochester, New York 

The rankings were based on cities across the nation with a strong sense of community. It took into account things like charitable donations and volunteering. 

Neighbor.com says, "Pittsburgh ranks high in charitable giving and volunteering and continues to live up to its neighborly reputation."

Another big factor in Pittsburgh moving up four spots in this year's ranking is home buying. According to Neighbor.com, Pittsburgh lands at the top of Business Insider's list for U.S. cities where young people are buying the most homes
