Report: Penn State To Interview 49ers' Roman
PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Add another name to the Penn State coaching search.
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported on Twitter Wednesday morning that San Francisco 49ers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman will interview for the head coaching position at Penn State.
La Canfora joined Starkey and Mueller to give us the inside scoop on what kind of fit Roman would be.
Roman has worked with Jim Harbaugh first as offensive coordinator at Stanford (2009-10) and then with the 49ers (2011- present).
He's also been an assistant coach in the NFL with Carolina, Houston and Baltimore.
Penn State will likely have competition for Roman, who has also been linked to several NFL head coaching vacancies.
On Tuesday, CBS Sports Senior College Football Columnist Bruce Feldman reported via Twitter that Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin has become the "clear frontrunner" for the head coaching vacancy at Penn State.
However, the school had not offered the position to anyone yet.
